STAR WARS, TREES, GUNS AND ROCKIN' CHRISTMAS TUNES

December 19, 2017

Thursday night after work I went out to Hollywood 20 to attend the Borderlands Comics' screening of Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi and all I can say is WOW!!!! I enjoyed the film from start to finish and, for a change, I actually agree with critics over moviegoers on this one. Sure, I had a few issues with this installment mostly being that it raised more questions than it answered but I am sure that those questions will be answered when Episode IX concludes this trilogy. Honestly, this one is up there with Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back for me. Even Tessa really enjoyed this one when I got to take her on Sunday.

Friday morning I got to work much earlier than usual and rode with the boss, Mark Hendrix to Travelers Rest to plant some trees for the Greenville chapter of the 1Thing Sustainability Initiative. Since a lot of the Entercom ladies didn't want to dig holes (divas) and I am super OCD and would take forever to actually plant a tree, I decided to just focus on digging. Our team managed to plant over 200 trees in under 3 hours!

Saturday morning I got up early (again) and headed to Anderson to join the men of Take Heart Church for our second Dude Day where we got to shoot some guns at McConnell Hall Plantation. It was only my second time ever skeet shooting and the first time with a shotgun (the first time was with an old rifle). I actually shot fairly well all things considered!

Sunday was our church's Christmas service which I had been looking forward to since we were playing "Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24" by Trans-Siberian Orchestra. We actually pulled it off pretty well!

I will be off for the next two weeks as my wife and I prepare for the arrival of our son, Gideon so Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
