With a name like Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, you really have to deliver the goods. And it did not disappoint. Yes, it was FANTASTIC!!!! And where to watch it? In IMAX 3D, of course!

I have to admit, I wasn't sure at first how they could squeeze a story for a feature length film from a book that is, essentially, a field guide/textbook for witches and wizards. However, they did a fantastic job building a story around the author of the fictional book, Newt Scamander, a truly lovable character portrayed by Eddie Redmayne. The beasts that the film is named for, are really just a white rabbit leading the audience down into the real story of a city in turmoil and on the brink of war between the magical and non-magical ("No-Maj") worlds which is being egged on by the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald who remains unseen throughout most of the film.

Every bit as enjoyable as any of the Harry Potter films, Fantastic Beasts is sure to keep the franchise alive for it's intended five film series!

Today also marks the release of the new Metallica album, Hardwired...To Self-Destruct. While I have yet to listen to the entire double album, I am thoroughly impressed with everything I have heard so far. The last two albums have been failed attempts to capture their original fire. Although the intensity was there, the writing and, most significantly, the production was not up to the challenge. But this one seems to be on point!

And to commemorate the occasion, you can Metallic-ize your name! Check out the link here!
