The first of Eddie’s guitars to go up for auction is his 2004 EVH Charvel Art Series electric guitar. The guitar features a maple neck and fingerboard, Fender Stratocaster-style headstock number #54 on the back, and his iconic black and white abstract striped art design on the front. Van Halen’s signature graces the front of the body along with “VH 04” and “San Antonio, Texas 9-28-04.” Accompanying the guitar will be several photos of Eddie applying taped stripes to the guitar, him playing the guitar on stage, an EVH hardshell case, and a partially-smoked cigarette in a plastic vial.

Van Halen’s other guitar is a custom electric guitar he designed with his guitar tech Matt Bruck at his 5150 home studio. The guitar is the one best identified with Eddie’s look as it features a red body with black and white stripes. The guitar features a maple neck and fingerboard with dotinlays, a pointed Kramer headstock with Kramer machine heads, single humbucker pickup, and Floyd Rose tremolo. The guitar includes a white Van Halen guitar pick along with two backstage passes.

Each guitar is expected to sell between $40,000-$80,000 at the auction.
